currency, the Continental was completely destroyed. That's one reason they were so insistent on having our currency backed by precious metals.

There is a saying, not often used today, "Not worth a Continental"... meaning that something is completely worthless. That was referring to our original currency.

The Confederate States dollar also went belly up, unsurprisingly.

and the Fed has created one crisis after another since its inception and we are in the wobbling stage before the Mother of All Bubbles bursts on us in catastrophic fashion.
