They were asked to stand because that is the way they pray in the Senate. Their outside beliefs are irrelevant when they are a guest somewhere. I have visited churches where I was asked to kneel when I typically don't kneel. I kneeled because this isn't a big deal and I wanted to show respect.

Most people understand how to act in these situations. You obviously do not.
