there are two teams and that you must pick one to cheer for over the other. And they never seem to notice when their teams switch sides on a policy issue.

It is because of this stupidity we have been stuck with Republicans and Democrats. To sit there and complain about the mess the government is in and keep doing the same thing is asinine.

Simone Weil has great arguments on the nature of political parties. While abolishing them is probably too far, breaking the Republican-Democrat dual hegemony and seeing a few others rise to prominence is something this country needs.
