In what could mark one of the most audacious and far-reaching acts of sabotage in the full-scale war so far, Ukrainian military intelligence sources claim they carried out an operation targeting Russian military infrastructure near Vladivostok — a staggering 7,400 km from Kyiv.
According to reports published by UNIAN, a powerful explosion rocked a major gas pipeline in Russia’s Far East during the early hours of July 5.
The pipeline branches, running along the Sea of Japan coastline near Vladivostok, were allegedly destroyed in the blast, sparking a massive fire that forced the deployment of emergency services and special units.
The pipeline wasn’t just any energy infrastructure — it reportedly supplied gas to several Russian military installations, including units of the 155th Marine Brigade of Russia’s Pacific Fleet. This brigade has been heavily involved in Moscow’s war in Ukraine.
Ukrainian intelligence also claims that a water pipeline providing drinking water to local military garrisons was destroyed in the same operation.
