teams are still able to win them. It's not going to be too often but it still will happen. If the MLB was smart, they would do something to create some competitive balance though. Look at the NFL. Part of the draw of that league is the level of parity most years that almost any team can be a playoff team even if they were terrible the year before. I think that brings a lot of fans coming back year after year.
