Seriously…think about the black sole of the players shoe and the black rubber around home plate. There doesn’t appear to be enough video evidence that her heel didn’t touch the black part of the plate or did touch the back of home plate…it’s inconclusive. And because the call on the field was safe, it just doesn’t seem to be enough video evidence to overturn that call. Using the UCLA player in essence as a designated umpire just because she grabbed her team mate and made her touch home plate doesn’t prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she 1) didn’t touch home plate in the manner in which I described above and 2) that the UCLA player saw her foot not hit the plate. I would say that she didn’t hit home plate but using the examples above and lack of video evidence, I have to say that there wasn’t 100% conclusive evidence that she didn’t touch home plate and to overturn the “Safe” call originally made on the field. Just my opinion…
