the US and China. Europe is impotent. They are completely reliant on the US and China for these cloud platforms.

China is ahead of the US in one major area. The Chinese tech bros have full access to the data the Chinese government has on its citizens.

The US tech bros want this data on US citizens.

Why was TikTok such a big deal? It was a platform for Chinese tech bros to start gaining access to American consumer habits, a platform for China to promote content creators they wanted to shape messaging to the US consumers. This ability was previously only in the hands of American tech bros. They do not want Chinese tech bros to get vast volumes of data on Americans and get a foot hold in the US.

American cloud providers are pretty much locked out of China. While Amazon and Microsoft do have cloud business in China, they do not control it. The Chinese government forced Amazon and Microsoft to give control to Chinese businesses. They are Amazon and Microsoft in name only.
