sarasotatiger for pointing out many families use Memorial Day to remember family who had passed, and ignore much of early Christian writings on war.

Maybe go watch Hacksaw Ridge and get a balanced perspective on Christianity. It’s not about just laying down your life for a friend, but for an enemy as well.

Matthew 5

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
44 But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
