I mentioned his OBP and OPS, irrespective of the fact that it wasn't a stat anyone even conceived of 100 years ago. It's meant to show - Jackson wasn't the overwhelming superstar his legend has told us he was.
His batting average is legendary, but he had about 4000 fewer at-bats than Hornsby (#2) and about 8000 fewer at-bats than Cobb (#1). Ted Williams only hit 11 points lower for career average in 4000 more at-bats.
Jackson's rate stats are amazing, but his cumulative stats weren't Hall of Fame worthy even if he'd been considered in 1936.
