Bunting in the situations you mentioned seem to stem from a lack of confidence, a panic situation or that we just don’t have the talent to score runs on a consistent basis. We have out bursts of offense here and there but very inconsistent with more games of not scoring or scoring very little runs. It’s about assembling a poor roster with lack of recruiting. How can we recruit a team a few years ago and go into the season without a recruited starting catcher, granted the experiment with Crenshaw turned out well, but that was a crap shoot and if Crenshaw didn’t work out or got hurt, then what? How can we go into this season without a bonafide starting shortstop or a revolving door of Left and Right outfielders? How can we go into this season without long relief bullpen help? Say what you want but this is an unprepared team and it all comes down to recruiting. And if you want to argue that we have those players on our roster, well then the counter argument to that is then we not only don’t have a coaching staff that can correctly evaluate recruiting talent, not to mention recruiting talent for the SEC, but we also don’t have a coaching staff that can enhance a players abilities and make them better for their time here (ie: Harrison).
