How are my numbers without context?
They are what they are.
Is there currency manipulation, yes
Do government help or hurt industries, yes
But it was US businesses that went there to seek out better costs for US consumers.
Various examples have been given on some products on the costs to produce them in USA. It makes perfect sense why basic manufacturing costs more in USA.
I hope tariff rates go down and there is more trade everywhere, and maybe companies/people learn that diversification is a good strategy.
We are all letting it play out, but that does not keep people from being able to say this first few innings is just a horrible strategy.
It has been done in the past and can be done now. Go to countries, explain how future state looks better than current state, and negotiate from there. Even do multi-lateral agreements and leave some out of the sandbox.
