Those days may have been numbered regardless, though. GM, Ford & Stellantis, as well as European manufacturers' sales have crashed there before tariffs were announced. BYD & the other Chinese EV manufacturers have been eating their lunches with much cheaper, high quality vehicles. Tesla sales were dropping some, but not nearly as precipitously as the others.
