1926. The upper half on the sides started to be added I believe in the mid 50s and wasn't complete until 1968. You can lower the field if you wanted to. I've seen contractor flatten a 20 foot or tall cliff to contruct a shopping center. You could easily is this day and age remove 5-8 feet of rock to allow seats closer to the field. Unfortunately the south end zone was built on a small scale that you are limited to what could be done to add seats.
