some discussion about the various options, costs, benefits etc. with experts in related fields.

It is also worthy of note, that it was the Green Party and environmentalists that pressured Germany to close all of its nuclear plants & the US to not build any new ones for decades.

I'm also not sure if nuclear plants would eliminate the need for all fossil fuels, but perhaps battery technology or other options will advance to the point that jets, ships, tanks, helicopters, caterpillars & so on will no longer need diesel or jet fuel.
