Computer have been making extraordinary gains over the years, but people would have been silly to keep waiting for the very best product to come out.
EVs already make sense for some people in some situations. We got good deals and got a couple of them and they work well in their niches for us. Of course we have a number of drivers and a number of vehicles so we can switch them around easily based upon what they're needed for. We don't use them for long family trips.
They're great for around town or round trips of up to a couple hundred miles or so, though. They should last a long time, are low maintenance, are quiet, quick, and generally drive well. They also make economic sense for us.
I know that's not the case for everyone, but to each his own. As they continue to improve and to come down in price, and as the infrastructure gets built out they will make sense to more and more people.
