media friends. The Washington media could not operate without the help of their insiders in the government. Almost all of those insiders come from the ranks of the entrenched bureaucracy.
Trump made a massive mistake during his first term in letting GOP insiders 'help' him pick the people to lead these bureaucracies. When he tried to drain the swamp that bureaucracy rose up to put him in his place and the leaders he chose for those bureaucracies let it happen or in many cases actively assisted them.
To tame the beast he first has to contain the beast. I think he is off to a good start this time. He just needs to start escalating some of the court cases to the Supreme Court so they can slap them down.
