Ethnically yes so are Americans and French and Spanish etc. Ukrainians are mostly Slavic and so are the Russians. The language derived along with Belarusian from Russian It was called Ruthenian and all of them Russians as well were called Ruthenian by the Austrian Empire. Then you have the Lithuanian Empire, and the Polish Empire. No matter where they live more than likely they have Russian Blood in there veins. The majority of the people that make up the anti Russian view are close to the Polish border but they do not want to be Polish. The strangest thing about this war is Zelensky. He is a Russian speaking Jew from The area that is Russian parents were Pro Russian and he even ran on the platform with continued and better relations with Russia and he did the complete opposite. Research where he got his support.
