Fair? The vast majority of the Ukrainians are either Russian or part Russian. the vast majority would vote Zelensky out before the war and definitely if they would have had the election. The point is now if Russia keeps the Oblast that Seceded from Ukraine and Crimea they will always be hounded by the Ukrainian nationalist ( who knows what tribe they came from.) Which will lead to border conflicts. If Russia decides to take everything to the Dnieper, then that would make more sense and give Russia more security even if Ukraine became part of Nato. A smart Nato wouldn't do that.
