Only made things worse, That's no reason that we shouldn't continue to spend billions more.
If you appropriated billions and billions of dollars, and paid people To Shovel it into a furnace, you might want to think about not doing that anymore.
Unless that's called education. You can't deny education for the children.
If you have a stupid, wasteful, ineffective program that spends/wastes, hundreds of billions of dollars, just call it education, or national defense, or the struggle for equality, or a fund for puppies and kittens.
Those things must continue.
It's OK to continue to waste hundreds of billions of dollars if you tell people it's "for the children". If you tell the truth and say it's for Fraud, corruption and lighting the pockets of bureaucrats, people might not go along with it.
