In order to protect less objectionable beliefs.

You and I don't agree on much politically but it sounds like our views are similar here. I do not have issue with LGBTQ+ books in elementary libraries as long as the content of those books is age appropriate. If the books are about family and social issues experienced by non-traditional families thats fine. If it becomes a how to book with sexual material or nudity then it does not belong in an elementary library.
