I really don't think it's a slight on Pribula as much as coach's comfort with Allar. Allar is a year older and it felt like Franklin just trusts him to manage the game, not win it (sound familiar?). Obviously it didn't work out last night w/ the late pic, but I think that is just the case. So I really don't take from it that Pribula isn't the better QB.
Another similar thought I was having last night is how similar these programs game plans are. Very similar to what Drink/Kirby do, for better or worse. They both rely on their defense, have a solid O-line and just want to run the ball at all costs. They don't ask much from their QB or WR's unless absolutely needed to win the game. The difference is the TE play, we just don't use or TE's as much as these programs (obviously Penn St. has the best TE in the country so a bit of an unfair comparison) but still. I think either OSU or Texas will crush ND. Both QBs are just so much better than Leonard.
I really like the Pribula pick up, especially in our offense. I don't think we're going to have as good of an offensive line next year and defenses having to really respect the QB run could open things up to our WR's (where I don't think we fall of much) and TE play. I'm excited to see what Kirby can dial up next year.
