There were plenty of years in women's college basketball where UCONN dominated to the extent that you knew they were going to win.
How ofter has the last NFL playoff team won the Super Bowl, or a No. 8 seed won the Stanley Cup or NBA title?
The issue with the CFP could be that the first round games might need to be played at neutral sites as home field advantage in college football is a greater advantage than any other sport. But the downside is that fewer people may go to a SMU-Penn State First Round game in Indianapolis versus at Happy Valley.
