easier by no longer associating first round buys with conference champions. In at least two cases every year that will work itself out anyway.

Want to let the top five ranked conference champions in the field? Great lump them in with the seven at large picks and rank them. Let's add a caveat that Notre Dame is not allowed a bye because they are not in a conference. I am fine with that.

This year you'd have 1 Ore 2 UGA 3 Tex 4 pSU 5 ND 6 tenn 7 OSU 8 ind 9 Boise 10 Ala 11 ASU 12 Clem
