for me, the things that changed our players skipping and other players leaving programs and the transfer portal. There was a game a couple years ago where LSU played Kansas State and had like 40 scholarship players left- that’s what changed it. The expanded playoff is a factor in diminishing things but the main thing is you’re not playing against the team that finished the regular season, it’s more like a practice game of second and third stringers rather than the varsity versus the varsity for a bowl championship. I think that’s the point that Carlos is making and that’s my point also.
