To me it is playoffs or bust.

I don’t care about beating Clemson in a meaningless bowl game when 12 other teams are in the playoffs.

Could you imagine caring about the Chiefs playing a “bowl game” against the Packers when both teams don’t make the playoffs?

Sure - both are great historic franchises, but it means squat
