They're run by Diamond Sports Group which filed for BK and so dropped coverage of several teams. They kept coverage of the Cardinals but because they wanted such high broadcasting fees, were only picked up by DirectTV Stream and Fubo, who are not major streaming players.
So the Cardinals have become a lot harder to watch not only on the field but in terms of finding them on TV in general.
And they don't need a "major rebuild" either. They won 82 games with $61 million in payroll in two guys (Arenado and Goldschmidt) playing average or just above. They've already stated they won't re-sign Goldy.
If they can dump a couple of other dead weight contracts by picking up some of the freight (Mikolas for sure, maybe Matz) and trade Arenado, they've got a young lineup that will get better with more AB. They've got some great pitching in the pipeline and probably 2025 ready if a rotation of Gray / Fedde / Pallante / Matz (or Gibson) and someone else doesn't work out.
