brain dead people having food and water withheld so the bodies will die after a few days. No calling those families who made such decisions to end that care murderers.

They usually recognize that the person who resided in that body no longer exists, showing the importance of Theory of Mind in making moral judgments on ending the life of the body. But Theory of Mind is out the window on the other end of the spectrum with a fetus whom the vast majority are aborted before brain development reaches the point of the earliest possible glimmer of consciousness.

Catholics like Jeff typically argue that an ensoulment happens at conception ignoring that roughly 50% of fertilized eggs ever fail to implant successfully.
