Here's a perfect example. I own 5 acres with a house on it.

It's assessed as 1 acre residential and 4 acres agricultural. It comes to $3130 assessed land value. My neighbor directly across the street has 3 acres and a house. His land is all assessed as residential. His assessed land value is $4560. He pays more property tax for his 3 acres of land than I do for 5 acres. My whole street is that way. One side has around 5 acres each the other around 3. The 3 acre side pays more tax for their land. I'm not complaining. But it's an absurd system that no one can explain or defend.
