get them to spend their precious time listening to their stations.

Being hostile to the teams that many of their listeners hold dear hardly seems to be a good strategy of building and maintaining the largest, loyal fanbase that they can.

That is what attracts the advertisers who pay their salaries & the other bills associated with running a radio station.
