This is a relatively old bromide. You can go back to FDR and his fireside chats over radio. You can look at JFK and his quick mastery of TV (looking far more at home than a sweaty Dick Nixon) in the studio. Look at Obama and his campaign's mastery of small donor base over the internet. Those guys were way ahead in that game. Now - report in Wired states that "influencers" are getting preferential treatment at the DNC Convention than are those of print and broadcast media like Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer who struggle with long lines to get in while influencers are catered to in private lounges inside. Just a note that the DNC is all over the impact of this newly emerged phenom of influencers. There was a report this morning on the great financial struggles that Musk and his backers are having with X and I get the impression that Truth Social is not doing so great either. One proposed cause of Musk's troubles are A) his ego and B) that his full capitulation to Trump has turned X into a orange swamp.
