Ferguson cared when their Police Dept. and businesses were damaged and civil order of the community was disrupted. In 2015 Missouri still had a talented football team. A few campus race hustlers got students in an uproar over imaginary racial slights and provocations and it created dissention within the team and ruined the football season. Claims of cotton balls, poopstikas, and marauding 4x4 pickup trucks flying Confederate battle flags and threatening black coeds was all the instigators needed to create chaos on campus. So yeah, some people care about it.
