statement, but his comments in context appeared to be aimed at the attendees of the rally which was conceived by, organized by, led by and attended by white supremists. He later in an interview made the distinction between hate groups and those on the other side of the issue that were not part of a hate group that opposed removal of the statues.

Actually, it's not selective listening, it's Trump that needs to select his words more wisely.
