He played some as a freshman then was in the main rotation as a sophomore.

So far in 2 offseasons Gates has lost 1 player each offseason that we would want to stay. That is very far from 100% turnover that you falsely keep claiming exists now.

Teams that are consistently good aren’t completely changing their roster every year.
