....really changes everything (The Athletic column this morning). You've got players who have 1st or 2nd round NFL ratings returning to school - and the NIL money is guaranteed - if they're a late round NFL draft pick or an undrafted pick up, they can be cut at any time.

What Ohio State did after losing to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl (spending big on their roster enhancement) is why an early season poll that had them out of the top 10 made zero sense.

Ohio State players returning for 2024 senior season

Denzel Burke CB All-Big Ten first team

TreVeyon Henderson RB All-Big Ten first team

Donovan Jackson G All-Big Ten first team

JT Tuimoloau DE All-Big Ten first team

Emeka Egbuka WR All-Big Ten second team

Jack Sawyer DE All-Big Ten second team

Tyleik Williams DT All-Big Ten second team

In addition to stars like Burke, running back TreVeyon Henderson and receiver Emeka Egbuka have also decided to stay.

Ohio State hit the transfer portal hard, landing one of the top portal classes in the country in the winter.

The Buckeyes signed

Freshman All-America safety Caleb Downs from Alabama

All-SEC running back Quinshon Judkins from Ole Miss

Kansas State starting quarterback Will Howard

Alabama starting center Seth McLaughlin

The No. 1 quarterback recruit in the 2024 class in Julian Sayin, who transferred from Alabama after Nick Saban retired.

The portal success wouldn’t have happened without increased alignment at every level, from coaches to administrators to NIL collectives and donors. There’s a sense of urgency inside the program that extends to Ohio State’s primary NIL collectives.

You don't have to look at OSU. Just look at the draft. - shorty MU - 5/3 09:35:45
Wow. Of course a little of that was also due to the extra - JeffB MU - 5/3 09:47:37
               How so? I don't see a correlation. (nm) - shorty MU - 5/3 09:57:04
There is a limit to how long a player is eligible to play in - JeffB MU - 5/3 11:29:02
the extra year of eligibility meant a lot of upperclassmen - phrejd KC - 5/3 10:21:32
