that Grill got hurt. If your entire season rides on Grill then you are doomed from the start.

What Gates did all season was ridiculously stupid. He had no clue what he was doing, and he treated the entire season like one giant practice/scrimmage.

It’s remarkably hard to go 0-19 in conference play.

His substitution decisions were all over the place, and none of them made any sense. You could have had a live chicken walking the bench randomly picking players to sub in and out and had the same result.

The only reason he wasn’t fired is we don’t have an AD and he somehow put together a good recruiting class.
