I agree, KA's teams never had a legitimate go to player

The majority of NCAA tournament teams today have at least 2.

Add an East and Bates to his teams and they are probably an NCAA tournament team, as was basically proven by adding Jontay and Robertson the following year. Those teams could at least defend and rebound at times when games were on the line. They just weren't really in that many for it to matter because of the general lack of front line talent.
