is a board member of the National Coalition Of Minority Coaches, which advocates for the hiring of minority FB and BB coaches.

Gates wasn't even close to being the most qualified candidate for the Mizzou job, but he checked a box that's very important to our current AD.

So, to think that race wasn't a major factor in Gates' hiring is extremely naïve.
