side of my profession. As Pickle said, "publish or perish" - your employer doesn't care if there's quality to your work, only if you get "prestige" to the institution. In addition, they care about the grants you pull in (probably more than the prestige).

It's a broken, self-fellating, system. Nothing will change it.
