have been the right option.

Since there is no going back I say jump to 16 and do away with the bowl system. All the P5 level opt outs and transfers have made them a joke. If the G6 teams still want to play bowls before Christmas let them.

I would also seed teams 1-8 but then assign teams 9-16 geographically. They could even take a page from March Madness pick four first round locations and play a doubleheader there. This year UGA and FSU could have played their first round in Atlanta. Mich and tOSU in Indy or Detroit. Udub and Ore out west. WHorns & Bama in New Orleans. Keep travel short for first round games, it would make for a fun atmosphere even if most of the games would be blowouts.
