I understand that the government operating the area has opened the area to limited vendors, and has decided it's in the best interest of the government to contract with vendors that are open 7 days a week.
If that's the case, why did they choose to enter into a contract with Chick Fil-A? It's not like Chick Fil-A contracted to be open 7 days and then changed their operating procedures in the middle of the contract.
If the government wants Chick Fil-A to operate 7 days/week, then they need to negotiate in good faith with them to do so, or terminate the contract under its terms.
Legislating what amounts to a breach of contract on the government's part will have long term consequences.
What business would enter into a long term contract with any government agency when it knows that a legislative body could usurp the agreed to terms whenever it wants?
