on our contracts. I'm all for a bump, but increase the buyout from his side. Mizzou owes him 75% of his contract if we fire him. But if another school hires him they only owe $6M (or something close to this). We need to structure where a competing school would owe at least 50% of remaining contract. I get this is easier said then done, but we need similar language to what we have with Gates to secure long term. Maybe more importantly is Baker, I believe he makes right at $1M but plenty of programs will be coming for him (especially after yesterday). I think DRF has a ton of good will with Drink when she gave him that extension last year when NO ONE wanted him (and the media was understandably critical of this move). I get there is not much loyalty in sports these days, but I can't imagine Drink would want to consider leaving this situation, even for an A&M type job. How many coaches have the buy in from their AD, Chancellors, University President and State legislature like he does? Even when he was struggling. We (and Drink) have a very good thing going right now and I've never seen the university and state so aligned. As we all know, stability is so key to success in this sports (especially with recruits). We can have a very good situation here for years to come.
