These big guys don’t like to play big. As I recall at Arkansas, Vanover liked to stand outside and shoot 3’s too. I’d like to see more grown ass men recruited for the interior. Hard to find back to basket dudes, I guess. Carter appears to be the best guy down low but he’s 6’6”.
If they don’t become a better jump shooting team, they are gonna struggle. Ol Stansbury did what a lot of teams should do and guard the 3 line and make MU try to beat you off the dribble or with a post game. East looks like the only dude with a good enough handle and athleticism but he isn’t very big. Honor isn’t gonna out athlete dudes to basket very often and he’s like 5’10”.
Grill, Jesus, Bates, Tonje look like they will be best when they get an open look as they aren’t gonna beat up people one on one. Vanover is at least so damn tall he should get his shot off. He will help but how much?
Robinson will probably develop into a good option with time. Pierce has potential. But they are just freshman.
I think MU steps back from 25 wins for a year or two. Future looks decent on paper though with recruiting.
