There is a legitimate basis for classical liberalism.

It is and was an idea that was strongly needed for millennia. It was much needed when I was a kid and until roughly the end of the last century. But the problem with it today is that it has gone too far, in so many ways. It has now become dysfunctional in many ways, counterproductive, inefficient, costly, irrational and ignorant. That should cover most of what the left has given us today.

Back it up a bit and things will get better.
