Soccer fans are the only fans I have ever met who seem to feel the need to justify their sport.

Back in the 90's when NASCAR was huge, I had several friends who were big fans. I would go to their viewing parties, have a couple of beers and some snacks then leave. I don't ever remember them trying to win me over to the sport, they knew it was not my thing and accepted it.
