... a total fluke.
Josey got hurt and missed the entire season. Hansborough got hurt on the first run of the season and had to play all year and a high ankle sprain.
The offensive line got shredded by injuries. 5 guys from the 1st team and 2nd team depth chart were injured. The entire year was played on patch work.
And Franklin himself injured both his knee and shoulder. The first injury was in the middle of our first game in the SEC, 2nd game overall, against Georgia, which we were winning 17-9 in the 3rd quarter.
In fairness to Franklin... that year was a total flukey washout. Thank god that stuff didn't happen when Chase and the gang of 07-08 was here.
It appears that 2011 and 2013 were the more accurate depiction of his talent, production and ability to win at the exact same level that Chase Daniel did.
8-5 as a Sophomore and first year starter.
And a season where they both went 11-1, 7-1 and finished a couple of quarters away from the National Title game. Ended up 12-2 winning a Cotton Bowl.
The only real difference in their career was that Franklin 2012 weird injury decimated season.
Outside of that, the team's performance and their production was almost identical. Chase's came primarily through the air... Franklin did a lot of his production running. But total yards, touchdowns, interceptions, pass completion percentage and amount of long TDs bombs they threw were uncannily similar.
