to being a bucket of water in the ocean, in this child trafficking scandal.

Fwiw, actual pedophilia was a small percentage of the sexual abuse crisis in the Catholic Church. The vast majority of cases were of homosexual ephebophilia... male sex with boys past the age of puberty but before the age of consent.

Those who committed either crime should, of course, be punished to the full extent of the law, including those who covered it up.

But even if that would have happened overnight, the effect on human trafficking would not even be noticeable, sad as that reality might be.
