Why do companies that have no competition still advertise?

I went to a Royals game on Friday night and Evergy is one of their main sponsors. I understand that the goal of advertising is brand recognition but what good does brand recognition do for Evergy? They don't have competitors. Consumers don't active seek them out. You are stuck with Evergy if you want to have power at your house. There really is no choice in the matter for the consumer. It seems like spending hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars to advertise at the Royals game is not going to make any sort of difference to their bottom line. I'm guessing it's just some of their executives wanting a luxury box or whatever other type of perks youget f
