for 11 years isn't the all around healthy and successful athletic department we all saw do quite well from 2000 or so to 2011 in an even stronger Big 12.
You see losing begets losing as talent levels fall and fan apathy sets in. A winning is the main priority type person wouldn't even consider playing for SEC Mizzou, it has gotten that bad for most sports, most years.
I do agree, of course, Mizzou would lose in the current Big 12 too or any other conference if they refuse, as they've done in the SEC, to fund and support their teams to the median level of their conference competition.
Without that very reasonable and doable approach,(as evidenced by 2000 through 2011), then there truly is zero hope going into the future.
