How is Denver a "small market?"

I mean, seriously. Denver metro is around 3 million, and that doesn't include Boulder, Colorado Springs, or Fort Collins. I'd argue that even up into Wyoming is almost a part of the front range at this point.

Denver has: NFL football, MLB baseball, NBA basketball, NHL as well as minor league hockey, MLS, and NLL lacrosse. I guess we don't have a WNBA or NWSL...
