as the NFL draft exposed, he is going to have to greatly increase the talent level and soon or we simply are not going to be competitive. To have only one player drafted, and not until the fourth round, is simply unacceptable. ESPN Radio was making fun of that on Day 3 of the draft, noting that even Old Dominion had two players picked.
I realize it is not all about the head coach these days and that NIL plays a significant role. But it is what it is; he is the head coach and the face of the program - and being paid $6 million this year for that privilege. I already have concerns about QB position coming into the year and just do not see a big improvement over the last two years (throw Covid season out).
